MEET THE TEAM

PUBLISHERS

Coinkydink is a new independent publishing company which launched in the UK in 2023, bringing a fresh perspective to the world of publishing.

The name? Well sometimes the magic of a 12 year old mispronouncing a word is more powerful than the largest of ad agencies. The dyslexic mind is so undervalued.

Coinkydink’s pedigree comes from the founders of Pretzel and Peggy and Pretzel Films, established in 2004 as an independent and sustainable creative agency and film production house, who offer strategy, creative, and production for brands whose reputation is important.

It was important to Pj and Jamie that they sourced as locally as possible, using the very best of British, from editors to jacket designers. The team assembled are quite simply, amazing.

“During lockdown the time felt right to create another steadfast company. Reflecting on nearly twenty years of experience working with global brands, creating award winning advertising campaigns and creating with some of the biggest names in the world of politics and entertainment, it felt a natural progression to take on the challenge to deliver five outstanding thrillers. My dad became the natural author after decades of hiding his light under a bushel, or rather just being a spy made him very quiet… and my business partner of seven years, Jamie Davis agreed to go on this adventure. Now I just hope everyone will enjoy the books!” – Pj

“Launching a new business is like embarking on a thrilling adventure into the unknown, fuelled by passion, determination, and an unwavering belief in the future. I am excited about the endless possibilities that lie ahead and I invite everyone to join me on this journey of growth, innovation, and success.” – Jamie

Our whole journey so far has been one of coinkydink and we have all our brilliant team to thank.

COINKYDINK BOOK PUBLISHING COMPANY

EDITOR

Sue Poulsen has worked for a major international publishing firm for many decades, editing the work of well over a thousand debut and bestselling authors from the USA, the UK and Australia—most of them household names, including but limited to:

Lee Child, Dan Brown, David Baldacci, Wilbur Smith, Harlan Coben, Robert Crais, Susan Hill, Michelle Paver, Joanna Trollope, C.J. Sansom

She has also interviewed many of them about their inspiration and the techniques they used. This gave her rare insight into what makes a bestseller and, perhaps more importantly, an irresistible read.

For a 10-year period Sue also edited a nonfiction series, selecting the best UK memoirs, biographies of all kinds, true crime, history, science (including animals and nature) and more.

Most recently she has studied Creative Writing at Oxford’s Centre for Continuing Education and is currently producing her own first novel, so she totally understands exactly what it’s like to be at the coal face.

“Taking time away from digital pollution, convening with nature, going on retreat with other spiritual seekers—all of this takes discipline, effort and dedication. To me, this is truly “living the process.” And it not only drastically improves one’s own life, but touches all the people in your life by extension. This is divine oneness.”
